Prerequisite: permission of program coordinator. Principles and methods used in diagnostic microbiology. Test procedures routinely applied in medical bacteriology, parasitology, mycology, and virology are covered with an emphasis on the isolation, identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing of pathogenic microorganisms. Immunologic and molecular methods used for infection agent identification are also covered. 5 lecture/3 laboratory hours
