Who Should Enroll: This course is ideal for individuals seeking entry into the CNC machining industry with the goal of becoming a CNC operator, and gaining a head start toward roles in programming and setup. * This 12-week course provides a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to CNC machining, preparing students for entry-level careers as CNC machine operators, with a strong foundation for future advancement into programming and setup roles. Through real-world projects, students will gain practical skills in G & M code programming, CNC mill and lathe operation, and CAD/CAM processes using Fusion 360. No prior experience required. Potentially earn up to two (2) Mercer college credits while learning all you need to be qualified to begin your CNC Machining career as a CNC Machine Operator with a head start to Programmer/Setup Person! What You'll Learn: Fundamentals of G & M code programming. Basics of 3D CAD/CAM and post-processing. Operation of CNC mills (HAAS TM1P) and CNC lathes (HAAS ST10). Workholding, setup procedures, and tooling. Materials, speeds and feeds, and cutting strategies. Machine safety and basic equipment maintenance.
