HMGT250 — Meeting, Conference, and Event Planning

The growing field of meeting and event planning is discussed in detail. Starting with an overview of the nature of meetings and why people meet, the course will look at a variety of topics, including site selection, contract negotiating, program planning, budgeting and financial management, food and beverage arrangements, and contracted services. A review of the meeting and event planner’s job description is also provided. Assessment Level(s): ENGL 101 / ENGL 011 . Three hours each week. 3 semester hours Course
