HMS- 48 — Counseling and Case Management in Correctional Facilities
Description: Introduction to the principles of counseling and case management skills within correctional facilities. Emphasis on preparing students for routine casework in the classification and assignment of offenders committed to a correctional institution or to the re-entry of offenders into the community. Emphasis on developing knowledge, skills and abilities of the social work/counseling professional in the criminal justice system. 54.00 hours lecture. (Letter grade or Pass/No Pass option)
