HLCA1100 — Medical Terminology
3 hr(s). This course is a study of the structure of medical words and terms. Emphasis is placed on spelling and defining commonly used prefixes, suffixes, root words, and their combining forms. Anatomy and physiology terms as they relate to the root words, combining forms, prefixes, and suffixes are stressed. Terminology and medical abbreviations relating to several allied health occupations acquaints students with an overview of the medical language. This course is as an online course as well as the traditional classroom.
