Organic Chemistry II This course is the second course of a two-semester course in organic chemistry. The second semester includes the study of structure, stereochemistry, nomenclature, preparation, reactions and reaction mechanisms of free radicals, carboxylic acids and their derivatives, B-dicarbonyl compounds, aldehydes, ketones, and amines. Special topics may include bioorganic compounds, synthetic polymers, or pericyclic reactions. The laboratory stresses techniques, organic synthesis, and the use of instruments for analysis.
