Lodging Management and Operations Lodging Management and Operations is designed to afford the student with a detailed look into the important role that housekeeping plays in effective hotels and resorts. The course covers how to efficiently care for guestrooms and public spaces; purchasing; safe storage of wares, amenities and chemicals; and procedures to ensure a comfortable and pleasant guest experience. Particular attention is given to identifying various cleaning chemicals and equipment used in the housekeeping department and evaluating their effectiveness. Instruction is provided in the proper use of the chemicals and equipment required to maintain guest and public spaces. The course covers retention to staff. Fall only
