Jazz Improvisation I This course introduces the study of jazz improvisation. Students learn the elements of jazz harmony through the study of chords, scales, modes, arpeggios, and harmonic formulae as well as transcription and analysis of historic improvised solos. Students use these skills and knowledge to improvise over common jazz forms including modal, blues, and AABA song form. PR: MUS 152
