ENGL C1000 — ACADEMIC READING AND WRITING
In this course, students receive instruction in academic reading and writing, including writing processes, effective use of language, analytical thinking, and the foundations of academic research. Techniques of writing will focus on expository and argumentative writing based on critical reading and thinking about texts. Reading will focus primarily on works of non-fiction prose, chosen to represent a broad spectrum of opinions and ideas, writing styles, and cultural experiences.
