ENGL 140 — Writing for Digital Environments * (3 Hours)
This course teaches students to apply the writing process, employ fundamental rhetorical strategies, and edit text in a variety of genres that are composed and experienced in digital environments. Students will generate content for a variety of purposes and audiences and will edit text to comply with industry recommendations for searchability and accessibility. The instruction will require students to select, evaluate, and synthesize information from primary, secondary, and generative AI sources. Students will write professional documents (business correspondence, proposals, and text to establish a branded online presence), plus create a portfolio of content focused on an industry selected by the student and approved by the instructor. By the end of the course, students will have generated approximately 6500 words.
