s certificate programs Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certificate Program Program Description: Upon completion of the Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification program students will be prepared to work in the field of substance use disorder treatment. Areas of study include: models of addiction, chemical dependency, substance abuse counseling, trauma, crisis intervention and case management. Graduates of the certificate degree will be eligible to apply to take the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor exam offered by the State of Maine Board of Alcohol and Drug Counseling.
